Why did we create this model?
We created InvestForLess to help the average American invest in a way that was previously reserved for only a select few. Over two years ago we began asking some very hard questions. Why does the investor with a smaller amount of money have to pay higher commissions/fees than a person with a lot more? It seemed to us that it was time for a change. As industry professionals we began looking for a solution.
Our model is simple; we charge a yearly membership fee of $250. Membership clients have the ability to buy the lowest cost share class available of nearly all mutual funds with no commissions or asset based fees, receive advice on various topics, access planning tools, an account aggregation program, webinars, research, and educational videos. Our experience shows this is the most cost effective model for the investor.
We strongly believe in the value of advice and wanted to find a way to promote its importance. As we spoke to tens of thousands of individual investors in the greater Washington DC area, investors routinely asked "how can I lower my fees" or "how do I know if I am getting unbiased advice?" Unfortunately, in the traditional financial services industry model, a potential conflict exists when an advisor receives compensation for selling investments and provides advice at the same time. As a result, we wanted to separate advice from investments. To this end we have, and continue to build, a network of financial professionals and planners who have agreed to only charge on an hourly, project, or flat fee basis. In this manner, you will always know what you are paying for. Most revolutionary however, is that we bring the LOWEST cost investment share class to every investor regardless of their account size.

You may be wondering how we make any money if we truly refuse all commissions and fees possible. We only make money on the membership you purchase. As a result, we have to obtain a lot of members for this business model to be sustainable. With that in mind, we ask that if you like investing at wholesale pricing, feel free to refer your friends and family.
At the end of the day, we created this model to help everyone. We don't care how much you have to invest. We are never going to ask to be introduced to your rich Uncle Harry. We are not going to try to sell you anything beyond a membership. We hope you too will join our Investment Revolution.
